ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS

Notice of Resident Commissioner Elections

The Utica Municipal Housing Authority (People First) will hold its annual resident commissioner election on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. One seat on the Board of Commissioners is open for a two-year term, from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.

To run for office of Tenant Commissioner, you must:

• Be 18 years old or older;

• Be a resident of public housing (Adrean Terrace, N.D. Peters Manor, F.X. Matt Apartments, Gillmore Village, Humphrey Gardens, Duplex Apartments, Marino-Ruggiero Apartments, Perretta Twin Towers, Duplex Homes, 819 Hamilton Street Apartments) or the Chancellor Apartments;

• Submit nominating petitions to the Municipal Housing Authority (People First) containing a minimum of 25 signatures of People First residents eligible to vote.

Election Schedule:

• Election Date: Tuesday, June 17, 2025.

• Petition Pickup: Starting April 21, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, at the People First Main Office, 509 Second Street, Utica.

• Petition Filing Deadline: Friday, May 16, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. at the same address.

An orientation for interested candidates will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Perretta Twin Towers Community Room, 509 Second Street, Utica.
