Section 811 Project
Grant Overview
The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a Section 811 Program capital advance grant in the amount of $1,063,200 to construct six independent living units of subsidized rental housing for persons with disabilities in the City of Utica, New York. HUD also provided a rental assistance contract in the amount of $24,800 on an annual basis for the Project to help defray operating costs. The project was targeted to very low-income individuals and low-income families who have an adult member with a disability. The Section 811 Project is part of People First’s HOPE VI initiative.
